Children Behaviour
Children in nowadays face many difficult situations in their lives which often do no have the resources or the skills to deal with the situations. Many children have to deal with bullying at school, divorced parents, lack of confidence, ADHT and more. The children look for answers from their elders as well as from their peers, unfortunately very often their peers do not have either the skills or knowledge to help them. In some cases children can grow stronger but in many other cases can take the wrong path.
Sometimes we fail to understand that children indeed do not have the skills to deal with difficult situations and not enough emotional support is given to them. For example, often in schools there are misbehaved pupils which are often placed in detention. However, it does not seem to have much of an effect as next week the same pupil will misbehave in the class. This is because we cover the symptom rather than addressing the cause of the problem. In most cases the children misbehaviour is their way to seek attention which often they lack at home. Recently there was an interesting article on BBC about a teenager starting fires. What do you think is the reason behind this teenager behaviour? See the full article.
A pupils lack of confidence can limit its creativity and potential as the pupil does not believe he or she has the skills to perform better. This lack of confidence like many other issues were at some point acquired, in the same way children can learn to be confident.
All of the pupils actions either good or bad have been learned or are due to certain underlying reasons behind them. With the right knowledge and assistance we can have emotionally stable pupils leading to better adults.
We can give to the children the support they need to deal with emotional issues as well as school performance issues. We also have the knowledge and skills to enhance learning and daily life for children and adults with dyslexia, dyspraxia and more.
